Guest Teachers

The system of guest teachers is one of the most striking characteristics of the school. Classes are held in a wide range of artistic styles and the students start to build up their artists' network already then.

Guest-teachers are dancers and choroegraphers from internationally wellknown companies like The Netherlands Dance Theatre, The Forsythe Company or Bounce. You will find personal portraits of the guests in the list of teachers (in alphabetic order).

 

We will receive the following guests for 2011 / 2012:

 

11. - 22. June – Sonia Rodriguez
from Barcelona has been winner of the famous Solo-dance-Competition in Stuttgart and in the Festival Danza Calvià. She has been dancing with choreographers like Iztoc Kovac, Rui Horta and CobosMika. Since many years she is one of the Iwanson guest teachers and choreographers.

23. April - 04. May – Jasmin Hauck
is a former Iwanson-student who choreographed many times for the Iwanson final performance. In Munich she had her own company T(w)o Busy The last years she danced at the Stadttheater Osnabrück and at Stadttheater St. Gallen.

16. - 20 April – Jochen Heckmann
as a dancer, Jochen Heckmann has been awardes several international prizes. From 1999 - 2007 he has been director of the State-Theatre in Augsburg. Today he is artistical director for the dance-productions at the State-Theatre in Kempten. Jochen Heckmann is member of the board of the Iwanson-Sixt-Foundation.

19. - 30. März – Patrick Delcroix
Patrick Delcroix was educated at the Centre de Danse Rosella Hightower, Cannes, France and the Ecole de Danse Colette Soriano, Orthez, France. As a dancer with Nederlands Dans Theater I (director Jirí Kylián) he worked with many celebrated figures from the dance world including Jirí Kylián, William Forsythe, Mats Ek, Ohad Naharin, Edouard Lock, Nacho Duato, Hans van Manen, Johan Inger and Nils Christie. Before that, he worked with Scapino Ballet (direcotr Armando Navarro) in Amsterdam, and Iwanson Dance Company (director Jessica Iwanson) in Munich. In 2004 & 2005 he also guested with Nederlands Dans Theater 3 for Birthday (Jirí Kylián). As a teacher, he worked at the Royal Conservatory, Den Haag for 7 years specialising in choreography and NDT repertoire, and before this he also gave Jazz Class for the Iwanson Dance Center. As a choreographer, he has created over 25 works for nearly 20 companies around thie world, including Nederlands Dans Theater, 1 Basel Ballet, Wiener Staatsoper, Cisne Negro, Cape Town City Ballet.

12. - 16. März – Jan Kodet
the Chech choreographer Jan Kodet has been awarded numerous prizes and has danced with renowned ensembles such as Rui Horta‘s SOAP. In 1999, he appeared in Jessica Iwanson‘s production ‚Andere Orte‘. Currently, he is instructor and choreographer at the National Theater of Prague.

05. - 09. März – Rosanna Brocanello
is choreographer of the companie 'Opus ballet' in Florence.

27. Februar - 02. März – Camilla Ekelöf
Camilla comes originally from sweden. She finished her education at the Danhögskolan in Stockholm and New York, where she also worked as a dancer. She worked with several choreographers at the Stockholms Stadsteater, GöteborgsOperan and Wasa Teater in Finland. From 2000 on, she worked as a choreographer and teacher for several theaters and shools in Stockholm, Norway, Russia, Kenya and Tanzania. Since 2009 she works as a choreographer for Regionteater Västs dansensemble.

23. - 27. Januar – Hannes Langolf
Hannes trained at LCDS before joining the unique European interdisciplinary project D.A.N.C.E.  where he was working, creating and performing under the artistic direction of Angelin Preljocaj, Frédéric Flamand, Wayne McGregor and William Forsythe. He then joined DV8 Physical Theatre in 2007 and is touring internationally in their latest work.

09. - 20. Januar – Jochen Heckmann

21. - 25. November - Agnès Noltenius
was a member of the Ballet du Rhin where she danced in choreographies of Serge Lifar, George Balanchine and Roland Petit. In Flemiing Flindts work La Lecon, she dance as a partner of Rudolf Nurejev. 13 years she danced at the Ballett Frankfurt under the direction of William Forsythe. In the last years she rehearses Forsyths works all around the world. At Iwanson, she regularily teaches the Forsythe-technique.

07. - 11. November – Peter Mika
danced in leading european companies such as Rui Hortas S.O.A.P. Dance Theatre Frankfurt; Gulbenkian Ballet Lisbon and Russell Maliphant Co. London. From 2001 until 2005 the company received financial support from the Kulturreferat of the city of Munich. Peter and his partner Olga Cobos are regularily guest-teaching at Iwanson since the late 90ies.

24. - 28.  October – Jarek Cemerek
comes originally from Prague. He danced with the Dance Theatre of Ireland, at the Stadttheater Bern and at the Operahouse in London. His last choreography was presented at Sadlers Wells, London. He is teaching at the Julliard School in New York and since 2 years at Iwanson.

17. - 21. October - Jochen Heckmann

26. - 30. October – Constantin Georgescu
comes from Romania where he danced in pieces like 'Coppelia', 'Romeo and Giulia', 'Giselle' or 'Schwanensee' at the National Theatre in Bukarest. 2001 he moved to Germany and worked with choreographers like Jochen Heckmann and Henning Paar at the State Theatres in Augsburg, Saarbrücken and Braunschweig. 2011, he danced in Minka-Marie Heiß 'Kompanie hausgemacht' latest production 'Essential as I am'.

19. - 23. September - Nat Huor
danced at many State-Theatres and is today one of the most popular dancers in Switzerland within the field of Musical, Show and TV.

12. - 16. September - Volker Michl
has been dancing with Rui Horta/SOAP, with CobosMika, with the Iwanson Dance Company and in the last years regularily with the Operaballet in Munich. As a choreographer he worked at the Operahouse in Zürich and the Munich opera.
