Marie Preußler

Marie Preußler is a „born and bred“ Iwanson person – well rooted in the institution, but also reaching out into other genres and with many-fold international contacts. She has studied and graduated at Iwanson, crowning her final “performance year” of  2008 by entering the finals at the Solo Dance Competition in in Seoul / Korea. In the following ten years, she remained close to the school as assistant to the executive team, but she also broadened her horizons by working with numerous companies, houses, directors and styles connected to the performing arts in general.

Contemporary dance was, of course, always Marie‘s top interest, whether choreographing, teaching or performing on stage, in films and on TV. She was seen among others, at the Salzburger Festspiele, at the Stadttheater Fürth, the Landestheater Niederbayern, in Würzburg at the Tanzspeicher and at the Mainfrankentheater, in München at the Kammerspiele, in the State Theatre at the Gärtnerplatz, in the Haus der Kunst, the Kammeroper and in the Gasteig, in the Residence and in the Allianz Arena. She has danced for a Take That concert, for BMW and for Porsche, at the ISPO (an international sports fair in Munich) and in independent productions.

But her curiosity didn’t stop there. She gathered international experience as production manager in film, theatre and for shows. As assistant director, she worked with directors and choreographers such as David Shiner, Katja Wachter, Mario Andersen, Shenja Lacher, Miguel Abrantes Ostrowski and Philipp Moschitz.
Since August 2018, Marie Preußler has been serving as Deputy Director of Iwanson International.
